Thimphu Festival. 7 nights 8 days.

Most of the religious festivals are held once a year in all the Monasteries throughout the country. In swirl of color, gods and demons of Buddhist mythology comes to life again. These colorful ceremonies, both religious theatre and exorcism ritual, are the most striking testimonies to the deep-rooted faith of Bhutan’s society .Relating the activity of the great saints, they recall importance of virtuous behavior and thus play an extremely important didactic role. From magical point of view, religious dance are intended to purify the ground, destroy outside enemies, demons and evil spirits, and repel famines, epidemics and wars. But they also drive away the inner enemies, the ego, obstacle and mental darkness that are so deeply rooted into each being and prevent us from achieving Enlightenment.
