About Mushroom Festival
Bhutan is very famous for mushroom harvesting during mid of August, among the mushroom Genekha is famous for producing matsutake in local term it is known as Sangay Shamo. Genekha is under Thimphu District which comes on the way to Paro highway, which takes 45mins drive from Thimphu. During the mid of August they have mushroom festival which is organized by gewog administration and mushroom management group in collaboration with the national mushroom center and supported by TCB.
